Train is definitely the best and cheapest way to go. I searched trips from Huntingdon to South Station on the Amtrak website (http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/HomePage) and it looks like generally you have to go through Philly or NYC, but hey, beats paying for airfare. Just put your dates/times into the ticket box on the left and see what it gives you.
Once you get here, south station is in the middle of town, connected directly to the subway system and has plenty of convenient cabs so there are plenty of ways to get around. Hope that helps!

Hey, Huntingdon! Do they still have broasted chicken at that place downtown? (I went to Juniata College.)

If you can get to State College, there’s a really cheap bus to NYC. Then NYC to Boston. Much cheaper than the train. (Gotobus.com for the SC to NYC. Then Boltbus.com, Megabus.com, busjunction.com, or Gotobus.com to Boston.)

That said, I much prefer the train from Harrisburg to Boston, changing trains in Philadelphia. Around 12 departures per day from H-burg. Only one per day from Huntingdon, and it’s chronically late. But Amtrak and car are the only ways out of Huntingdon. You could take Fullington or Greyhound from Harrisburg to Boston, but it’s a horrible trip.
