How long does snow last before melting in Boston in December?

‘m gonna be in Boston from the 26th to 30th of December to see some shows and it looks like it won’t be snowing at all, sadly. I live in LA, so I rarely get the chance to see some snow. Thing is, I know Boston just got hit with a big winter snow storm, so I’m wondering if I’ll see any snow left once I get there?

Is it better to visit Boston the first weekend in December or the 3rd weekend in December?

My wife and I would like to visit Boston for the first time and would like to see some of the Christmas time in Boston. We have two weekends that we can go. December 1st and December 15th. Which is better? We don’t mind the weather too much. We are more interested in being able to see as much as possible and have the city decorated for Christmas time.
